How to Clean Vans Shoes
WARNING: Cleaning your vans shoes that contain any form of black in the design may result in the color fading slightly, this is normal and will happen no matter what you use to clean the shoes.
Have you realized that your pair of Vans shoes are getting pretty dirty? Well, if so, then I have just the right solution for you! THIS IS FOR VANS CANVAS SHOES ONLY!
Materials
- Dawn dish soap/soft scrub
- A cup
- Toothbrush or sponge
- Water (a lot)
- Toilet paper
- Towel
- A sunny spot outside
- A clear forecast
Preparation
The first thing that you have to do is take out the shoelaces. If you choose not to do this step your shoes and shoelaces will most likely have spots where you weren’t able to clean because the shoelaces were in the way. (This only applies if your shoes have shoelaces.)
How to Clean the Shoelaces
First - completely soak the shoelaces in water
Second - add soap or soft scrub (I recommend soft scrub)
Third - completely rub in the soap or soft scrub with your hands
Fourth - place in a cup and let sit while you clean the shoes.
How to Clean the Shoes
First - apply dish soap or soft scrub to the sole of your shoes
Second - scrub the sole of your shoes with a toothbrush or sponge
Third - wash off the excess cleaning agent
Fourth - apply your cleaning agent to the canvas part of your shoes, then scrub just like you scrubbed the sole of your shoes
Fifth - wash off the excess cleaning agent.
How to Dry Your Shoes
First - wrap the canvas part of your shoes in toilet paper (If you want you can also use paper towels, but toilet paper works best in my opinion.)
Second - stuff the inside of your shoes with the same thing that you wrap your shoes in
Third - wait for 24-36 hrs, then take your shoes out of direct sunlight and unwrap them
Now you should have a wonderful clean pair of shoes to wear.
