Christmas Desserts
Chocolate No-bake Cookies
What you need:
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1 stick butter
1/2 c. milk
1/2 t. vanilla
1/2 c. peanut butter
3 c. oats
1/2 c. coconut
How to make it:
1. mix sugar, cocoa, butter, and milk in a pot on the stove
2. cook for 2 min. at 300 degrees
3. remove from heat
4. stir in oats, vanilla, coconut, and peanut butter
5. drop from spoons onto waxed paper
Crisco Sugar Cookies
What you will need:
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
3 T. milk
How to make it:
1. blend shortening, sugar, egg, and vanilla
2. add dry ingredients alternating with milk
3. chill at least 1 hour
4. roll dough 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface
5. cut into shapes with floured cookie cutters
6. place on un-greased pan
7. bake at 400 for 7-10 min. or lightly browned
Trifle
What you need:
1 angel food cake
1 3 oz. pkg raspberry gelatin
1 4 3/4 pkg instant vanilla pudding
2 c. sliced strawberries
2 sliced bananas
whipped topping
How to make it:
1. cut the cake into one inch cubes and place in bottom of a glass bowl
2. make up the gelatin according to the directions on the box - allow to cool for a few minutes and pour it over the cake
3. mix pudding according to directions on the box and pour over the fruit
4. refrigerate for at least 10 min.
5. just before serving top with whipped topping and garnish with fruit
